How We Work

Consultation
During our first consultation, we’ll assess your needs. We’ll discuss your goals, your target audience, your previous marketing materials and if they were successful, and we’ll get a general sense of you and/or your business. We’ll also discuss your current identity (such as logos and color schemes), and any general layout requirements or ideas you may have. Last, we'll discuss your budget and project completion timeframes.

Communication
Good communication is an integral part of any project in order to attain the best possible end result.  This is especially true with a marketing communications piece or web site. Communication is also an element which must be present throughout the entire development process.

Our goal is to work with our clients, not for them.  The best results come from a collaborative effort to ensure that the work we produce is an accurate representation of what our clients envision for their company. We strongly encourage a client to be an active participant in the development process. The voice with which your piece speaks to your prospective and/or current customers should be well-suited to your company and convey your image in a positive and informative manner. The client should come away feeling as if they have new and important information about your products and/or services, which keeps it in the front of their minds.

Design
During the design phase, we develop potential concepts for the piece on which we're working. This includes brainstorming sessions with the client and among our team as well. These concepts may consist of rough sketches and/or initial computer-based drafts.

The conceptual phase is where a piece starts to take shape and the feasibility of each approach is weighed. This may include how a particular color scheme would be perceived by the end user or how a particular tagline or layout may work better than another option.

During this phase, initial design comps are presented and the client is asked to provide feedback on what they like about a particular idea , and why they think it works best, until the final concept is chosen. This is the area where communication plays the biggest part in ensuring that a project's goals are successfully achieved.

Production
Once a concept is chosen, the idea is polished during the next phase of the process - production.

During this phase, the approach that is chosen is refined and the layout is solidified. Once this step has been completed, new versions of design comps are presented to the client to give a better idea of how the finished piece will look. It's at this point that revisions are made and a final draft is presented.

In the case of a printed piece, printers may be contacted for quotes and the client is provided with a CD-ROM (or DVD-ROM) with all the files necessary to have the job printed. If it's a website we've created, the site will be uploaded and thoroughly tested, and the client will be provided with a CD containing all of the files.
